First gig!
Clothing brand Arc’teryx threw a private event at their Santana Row store (San Jose, CA) on 6/17/2023 for their Veilance line of urban wear. I did projection mapping on the walls of their store with two 7000-lumen projectors, with audio-reactive visuals alongside a DJ. I brought my PA system as well.
The projection was challenging, due to some rail lights that bisected the available wall space. I used some abstract shapes to hide the fact that I was just avoiding the rails, but I think it turned out nicely. I used photos of the space to plan the projection and was able to make the necessary adjustments on-site fairly quickly.
Alongside the projection, I prepared some branded content to display on a 120″ TV, with an animated Arc’teryx logo and some urban drone shots as a backdrop.
It was a great learning experience for me, to gauge how long it will take to set up the equipment and to come up with a design in a short timeframe. Huge thanks to Mar and Brad, and the entire Arc’teryx Santana Row team, for the opportunity!
